After many years working as a draftsman and carpenter, Charles Woods began his career as a general contractor in 1982, serving the Raleigh-Durham Triangle area. Charles’ dedication to providing only the best workmanship for his customers has enabled Charles Woods Builder to stand out from among the rest in a the Triangle's competitive market. Choosing reputable subcontractors for all of his jobs has allowed Charles to work with some of North Carolina’s best designers and craftsmen, as well as having his work honored in various publications. His unwavering work ethic and beautiful home designs have garnered him many satisfied and repeat customers.

Will's love for building things started when he was just a kid. His first woodworking projects sparked a deep passion for construction that has stayed with him ever since. Will has always enjoyed working with people, and he found the construction industry to be the perfect place to combine his skills and interests.

 

Will's career took a new direction when he met Charles Woods. Charles' infectious enthusiasm for custom building and his wealth of knowledge captivated Will and reignited his passion for construction. Inspired by Charles, Will decided to leave his tech career behind and dive headfirst into the world of building. He earned his general contractor's license and, in 2019, joined Charles Woods Builder. Today, he proudly serves as President and General Manager, bringing his dedication and vision to every project.

Gray Burton, Designer/Office Manager

Born and raised in Hillsborough, NC, Gray Burton developed a passion for art and design at an early age. During his high school years, he dedicated much of his time to creating art and building furniture of his own design. Gray pursued his passion further by attending the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence, RI.

 

After earning his design degree, Gray moved to New York City, where he spent many years immersing himself in various facets of the design industry. He particularly thrived in working with clients to create spaces that were both classic and creative, design-forward yet affordable.

 

Gray eventually returned to Hillsborough and joined Charles Woods Builder, where he continues to create meaningful, approachable interiors. In this role, he combines his design expertise and local knowledge to craft beautiful, functional spaces that reflect his clients' unique styles and needs. Gray is dedicated to making high-quality design accessible and believes that thoughtful interiors can significantly enhance everyday living.
